Privacy & Cookie Policy

This site (Udderly Grounded, a FallingCow Collection) is a simple lookbook site — it doesn't sell anything directly or take payment. Every "Buy" button sends you through to a listing on Etsy, where the actual transaction happens under Etsy's own terms and privacy policy. This page covers what happens on this site only.

What this site collects

By default, this site collects nothing beyond what your browser sends to any website automatically (like your IP address, for the server to know where to send the page). We don't have a login system, we don't ask for personal details, and we don't store anything about you unless you actively accept cookies via the banner on your first visit.

If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we turn on two things:

Google Analytics 4 — to see roughly how many people visit, which pages and shirts get looked at, and which country/device they're browsing from. This is aggregate, anonymised-where-possible traffic data — we don't use it to identify you personally.
Meta Pixel — to understand whether people who click through from a Facebook or Instagram ad go on to click a "Buy" button here. This helps us know whether our ad spend is working, and may be used to show you more relevant ads on Meta's platforms in future.

We also log, in an anonymised form, which specific "Buy" button you click (e.g. which design and which colourway) — again, purely to understand which products are getting interest, not to identify individual visitors.

Cookies used

If you accept, the following cookies may be set:

_ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics, used to distinguish visitors. Typically expires after 13 months.
_fbp — Meta Pixel, used to link ad clicks to on-site activity. Typically expires after 90 days.

If you click "Reject," none of these are set, and no analytics or advertising scripts load at all.

Your choices

You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer, which reopens the banner so you can switch your choice.

Third parties

Clicking through to Etsy or to Badger Marmalade Books takes you to a separate website with its own privacy policy and cookies, which we don't control. We'd recommend checking Etsy's Privacy Policy if you have questions about what happens once you leave this site.

Google's and Meta's use of any data collected via the tools above is governed by their own policies: Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what data (if any) we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it's used. Email hello@udderlygrounded.com with any request. You can also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the date at the top of this page if anything material changes. Since this is a small, actively-developed site, worth checking back occasionally.
